Hi guys, just seeing if anyone has any tips on settling acid down please? I take 20mg omoperazole but it seems to have flared up at the moment. Went on holiday beginning of June but was rather stressful due to a member of the party. Came back and flare up started, since then Father in law passed away. I feel as if I am worrying about everything especially settling this acid. Tried taking Aloe Vera Juice, changed diet but still getting burning when I eat etc. Annoying me now. I also have hiatus hernia.
Thanks. 😊

First thinkmill say is raise the head of your bed by putting 2 bricks under it. Best advice I was ever given as acid can't travel uphill . Secondly double your ppi for a couple of days or buy ranitidevto take in-between. Hopefully that will bring it back under control
Personally I'd try addressing route cause rather than the symptom relief options proposed so far on this thread which probably "kick the can down the road". Of these, I'd plump for wellbeing improvements - see draxe.com/health/gut-health...
I've had that for a long time, daily. I've used baking soda and water a lot at night though I don't know if it's good for me. At bed time frankly, I don't care.
My recent new GI guy told me I need an upper scope, that I may have an issue with a esophageal sphincter, who's job is to keep food and acid down. So you might look into that.
Hello. I thought I’d tell you about my experience - it may or may not help you! I’ve been prescribed two lots of reflux medication but couldn’t take either as symptoms were made worse. I’m trying not eating processed food. I haven’t had any for 3 months now and I’m beginning to see an improvement in my symptoms - less coughing and throat clearing. It’s hard at times but I’m determined to keep going for 6 months to see if there’s any real improvement. Hope you get some relief soon.
