A bit TMI but is it normal to have undigested food in bowel movements? Normally there is skins from certain veg which I’d understand but I had noodles last night and my poo was literally just noodles this morning . 🤢I’m getting worried about it and it’s not helping my paranoia 😭

Hi Charleyxo.

No dear friend this is not really normal. Yes your can have small bits of solid food in your feces.

But not to what you have described.

I would strongly suggest that maybe you could ring or make an appointment to see your doctor or GP soon as you can. You may require a colonoscopy. (bowel camera test) to see what's wrong.

One thing you could do in the meantime is to take maybe a small amount of milpower otherwise known as milk of Milk of Magnesia this Will help with motion an ease any discomfort. Or if you have problems with constipation, you Could take duphaliac lactulose solution or maybe some fiber jell on a regular basis an this might help. Also if you just eat your food in small bites an chew as well as you can before swallowing it might digest food more and digest it better.

I hope this is of help to you.

I wish you health comfort and well-being.

Be well and keep strong 💪👍🤗🙏

I’m absolutely terrified of having a colonoscopy. The doctors have assured me over 4 times that it’s IBS and I’ve spoke to a few people who have undigested food too:( I’m just so scared and paranoid 😔😔

😔😔😔😔😔🙏🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗 I'm so sorry your having such a horrible time

I know having that kind of camera test is very invasive, as I type this my poor husband is taking the pree pep medication to have his camera test this afternoon god love him.

He too dose not want to have it done but knows he has to so it can be ruled out if there is anything other then ibs causing his problems an pains an weight loss.

But as to your anxiety, if you try the tips I suggested, an see how it goes also if you can listen an work with some of the guided imagery for anxiety and stress. It will help you big time.

I use to recommend to my clients jason stephenson or meditation vacation or the medication club video links. Maybe you can give them a try an see will they help you if you have access to YouTube.. 🤗👍

I hope this information will help you dear friend. Please feel free to private message me here any time.

Be well keep strong an breath slowly. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇

Sounds like you are definitely having malabsorption issues! I think you might do well to go back and tell your GP ... you need to get to the bottom ( sorry about pun) of what’s causing it. The constant worry won’t be helping your gut either! Do you suffer with D or C generally?

Have you tried keeping a food diary for a couple of weeks to see if you can spot any patterns in what you eat and the resultant poop?!?!

Try eating smaller, we’ll cooked meals more often as they’ll be easier for your body to cope with. Perhaps google a “bland diet” and try that for a few days or have you tried following the FODMAP diet yet? There’s a huge amount of info online - the trouble is, Dr Google can put “the wind up you” (pun intended) when you start searching!

If I stray off my “diet” (ie what suits me), then I get undigested food in my poop and it will be paler in colour and it always floats then too!!

I’m happy to share what works for me, with you ...

Hi Charleyxo, I was having the same issue that you described. No matter what I ate, it would pass through undigested. I was going to the bathroom multiple times a day and couldn't really leave my house. This went on for about a month, then I read about the Low Fodmaps diet. I decided to follow that diet strictly and within a few days my digestion went back to normal. Still have some problems here and there, but nothing like I used to have. Highly recommend the Low Fodmaps diet. Also remember that you brain and digestive system are very closely connected. The more stress and anxiety you feel, the faster you will digest your food. All the best to you!

I have the same issue from time to time, and it tends to resolve itself. Veg are the worst (green beans literally hang from pieces of stool like dangly earrings), but ground pepper is also visible, and sometimes other things too. Don't know about noodles as I don't eat them.
