I'm currently having tests querying infections: IBD and the like, Stomach Ulcer amongst others. I was diagnosed with IBS C a few years ago, displaying all the standard symptoms: constipation, unfinished movements, impaction, cramps etc.
However, recently it has all been different.
A few weeks back I attended a music festival where I was suddenly in the worst bellyache of my life accompanied with a growing sense of urgency to have a bowel movement. I came home to an explosive movement consisting of small stools and a lot of excess wind.
Self diagnosed as gastritis, I took Gaviscon for the next few weeks to a slow easing of symptoms.
Then, after waking early for an appointment, I was rushed home and bed ridden with a small temperature, dizziness and nausea. I suspected a stomach bug. Treating it as such with bed rest for the next few days.
Now, this is all good, but my guts have stayed the exact same. I still feel unwell off and on. This is weeks later, a month after the festival. Feeling very down about it.-It's difficult to keep your head up.
As I said in the beginning, I am now waiting test results. I am taking a PPI which has eased the stabbing stomach pain, but struggle immensely daily with these very difficult bowel movements.
I am wondering, had anyone else ever felt the same? Had any similar experiences? I would love to hear you thoughts/stories. All the best, lots of love. Stay strong IBS warriors!
