IBS with 7x bowel movements a day.

I am a 27 year old male who was diagnosed with IBS last year. I currently take Liperomide 2mg capsules to slow my bowels down. I have to take two in order to have one bowel movement, two bowel movements or some times three bowel movements a day. Before taking the medication I used to open my bowels 7x a day. I'm just wondering what's causing me to have 7x bowel movements a day. Because I don't have the typical IBS symptoms. Such as: Constipation, Diarrhoea, Abdominal. Etc. I however do suffer with bloating. I eat ok. I don't eat junk food. I also don't chase fast food chains for my meals either. I just wondering if any ist has had similar experiences to mine. And if there is a cure then please somebody let me know. I have had Colonoscopys, Defecating Proctograms, Etc. Nothing showed up. Also had Bowel Retraining. Never helped.

The way (the ONLY thing) I finally got rid of having ibs-d was by eliminating ANY food and EVERY food that could have had even a hint of any kind of not only WHITE flour but ANY kind of flour (except for rice) ...TOTALLY gluten-free... It was hard getting used to...even Campbells soups have flour in them! Anyway, within a few weeks time, I had NO more ibs-d.... after about a year I started 'sneaking' a bit of bread, etc into my diet and it was ok... but I am still cautious... Good luck to you. You might think about giving this a try.

Do you have Celiac? Or a gluten intolerance? And were you tested for those? I'm trying to figure out if I have non celiac gluten sensitivity. I don't think I do, but it seems hard to test for. My blood test for Celiac was negative. Thank you!!

No, I don't have Celiac as far as I'm aware of. Or Gluten Intolerence for that matter.

Have you tried the low FODMAP diet? It's not a long term solution but supposed to calm down symptoms. Also, have you tried food sensitivity testing? It's a blood test and usually has to be ordered by a dietitian (at least here in the US). I also suffer from frequent bowel movements, especially after eating something I'm sensitive to. It turns out I'm sensitive to oat and onion, something I've consumed almost daily...no wonder I'm not getting better!

Also, if you suffer from bloating, it might be worth getting tested for dysbiosis. You can order that through your doctor. That's my next step if I still feel crappy after my elimination diet.

So many tests I know...I'm so tired of it. Hang in there!! xx

No, I haven't been tested for Dysbiosis. I have looked up the FODMAP diet, but never have I tried it.

Do you take any kind of pro biotics and pre biotics I take inulation and body biotics together with allegany enzymes plus moducare and glutamine it helps a lot and it isn’t a prescription all natural products that put the nessecary stuff back in your colon to help with the IBS. I have been diagnosed with IBS but I never followed up with a regular doctor as I don’t do meds well so I go to a natural Pathic type doctor and they get like to get with the root of the problem and help fix it not just cover up if you get my drift.

Hello Kimmiejo. It's funny you mention Natural Pathics as I have been trying to seek out a professional Homeopathy for my recovery from this. Doctors at my GP don't help me one single bit. All they have prescribed me is Liperomide medication to slow my bowels down. Which of course helps but is not the answer neither is it the solution. I don't take any of the above.

I went to a Chinese Herbalist yesterday. I had acupuncture. It helped a lot. As soon as he stuck the acupuncture needles into my stomach, I felt my stomach gurgle. Then after treatment I started passing gas. I felt more energy as a result. I am now taking this special tea for my ibs.

After two days of drinking Chinese Herbalist tea, I'm opening my bowels more than ever. It's just making me rush to the lavatory all the time. So I have stopped taking it. The man and the woman wanted me to take it for a week. I don't think so. Upon examination, the man said I had inflammation in the stomach region. They also Saud that I had a lot of toxins in the body. However, when I had a colonoscopy last August they couldn't detect anything.

I'm trying to stay away from flour as much as possible. I'm only eating:Maceral Fish, Egg Fried rice and mashed potatoes. I mean the other day I had pizza and salad which I shouldn't of had, I confess.
