I have been on fodmap restriction (phase 1) for over a year. Amazing results until recently when my D returned with a vengeance, and a bit of gas, but I have had no bloating or pain (which was previously severe).
I am taking imodium regularly to control the D and it's really working, (regular BM with no constipation.)
Do you think I can start the fodmap reintroduction phase even though I am taking imodium regularly?
Thanks for your responses.

Are you 100% certain you've been 100% low fodmap compliant?
My understanding of the fodmap diet is that a person should be on phase one 6-8 weeks, or until you are at least 80% better, then move on to reintroduction.
If diarrhea is back with a vengeance, I don't know what could be gained by adding potentially diarrhea inducing foods.
You really need to find out what’s causing the D first otherwise how will you know if you have a reaction to the newly introduced food?
When your stomach is feeling calmer then start re-introducing food groups.
There has apparently been a new paper that suggests it is not harmful to continue long-term on the restricted part of the low fodmap diet. Always good to get what you are eating checked by a Dietitian to ensure you aren’t missing anything important.
No sorry I don’t. I actually had an appointment with my Dietitian this morning & she told me about it. I’m in the UK but I’m not sure if the paper was written by someone in Australia as they seem to be ahead of us with the whole FODMAP thing. Good luck.
