I was diagnosed with stress related IBS a year ago, my dad died of bowel cancer so the stress was a vicious cycle for me, I was constantly worried the more constipated I was, the more likely I was going to get cancer. I was eating crap and hardly drinking. Here is what worked for me:
I drink plenty of water throughout the day - no excuses.
Gluten-free porridge with golden linseeds every morning.
I stay gluten free - when I have gluten, I am constipated in the nighttime, so frustrating.
Mostimportantly, started taking a goat's milk kefir having read 'The Kefir Solution' by Shann Nix Jones
Everyone is different with their symptoms so you cannot and should not utter those words to generalise the condition. It is distressing for people who suffer constant day and night pain and are unable to sleep because of it - go wash your mouth out.
