I got diagnosed with IBS D and C in 2009 at the age of 25 and it has got worse over the years, the only thing that seems to help is peppermint but that only calms the stomach cramps down. Recently I was talking to a 73 year old male that has had IBS for over 40 years and has tried everything but nothing had worked until he came across kefir milk. He said that it took nearly a year to work but now can eat and drink anything he wants with no symptoms at all.
So my question is this : Has anyone here used Kefir milk/ Kefir grains? and if so, what was the results?

Well it has got a lot of publicity lately but I have not tried it. With IBS you start a journey of what is best for you, try it, if not for you try other things like the FODMAP(under supervision), probiotics, turmeric-the list is endless just don't give up you will eventually manage it. Good Luck!
Thanks for the reply. I've had my worst flare up ever, never had one like this before, have been off work for 7 weeks now. Pain in my right side, sometimes eases a bit after a bowel movement, sometimes travels to my lower back or up to my shoulder blade, never had this before so started to look into trying something new. Have looked into the FODMAP and Kefir and decided I want to try the Kefir grains/Milk first so thought I'd try and find out if anyone had had any experience with it on here first.
I'm taking peppermint capsules and acidophilus at the moment. I've read awesome reviews about this kefir stuff, things like it can cure IBD, IBS and other intestinal diseases, the story behind kefir is really interesting as well.
Don’t get fooled by Tumeric. To have a small effect on you, you have to take an entire bottle of Tumeric every day. The best thing to do Is to stay away from the problematic food.
Hi yes I have it's from goats my kefir not sure if I can leave the brand here but message me if you want to know. Its really good stuff I've noticed differences all over x
Kefir grains are a live organism and nothing to do with goats. You can buy the grains online (google it or look on amazon)and make your own kefir. It’s very easy- just add them to milk, leave at room temperature for 24-48 hours and voila you have kefir. It’s a bit like yogurt and gets thicker and more sour the longer it’s left. Start off at 24 hours and find your own preference. It is a probiotic.
