As an IBS sufferer I found taking an antibiotic (for non IBS issues) caused more IBS problems as the antibiotic wiped out the flora in my gut - which is one of the main problems with IBS - we don't have the proper flora and bacteria to maintain a proper functioning of our gut. I'm not a doctor but I do find that to be an odd approach. Hopefully you don't have ramifications from the antibiotic.
