Hi everyone, I've just stumbled across this website so thought I would post my concerns to see if anyone could shed some light for me.
So for quite some time I've been experiencing pain in my pelvic area, when I'm lay down at night in bed, sometimes if I cough or stretch and get a sharp pain.
I've also been getting lower back ache and what feels like period cramps but it's not all the time.
I've always been someone who is constantly up and down to the toilet for a wee but I've been needing to go so much more lately, at one point the other week I counted from when I woke up I actually went 30 times in one day which is crazy. I go to the toilet for a wee and almost minutes later I can feel that I'm starting to need it again.
Normally I wouldn't think into things but I've seen posts recently where they are highlighting how symptoms of IBS can be confused with ovarian cancer and a few years ago the doctors found a cyst on my ovaries which they said was completely normal however my brain has gone into overdrive and I am constantly worrying.
I have booked an appointment today with the doctors however I wondered if anyone could shed some light on the symptoms and whether they sound more like IBS?
Thanks

Sounds like you have a urine infection, take a sample of urine to doctors, you need antibiotics to clear it up . Don’t think it’s ibs . Hope you feel better soon .
How did you get on? I have IBS-C and when I’m very constipated, my back cramps a lot on my bladder is very irritable. I had the same worries as you. But I got a scan and blood tests - all clear. X
Thank you for asking. It turns out I have a kidney infection so anti biotics it is for a week and fingers crossed it will clear up. Unfortunately I have a tendency to always think the worst and will match any symptoms to the worst scenario but I'm thankful a kidney infection is all it is.
Oh I’m so glad you know what it is, and that you can do something about it. I hope you manage ok on the antibiotics. I’m exactly the same as you - I have pretty severe health anxiety and there isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not convinced I’m gravely ill. It’s a horrible thing to live with. Take care x
You are quite right to see your doctor - it could be a urinary tract or kidney infection. You might need an ultra sound check for cysts which might be present. Sometimes they need attention. My daughter had to have an op for hers, but has had more since then which have been carefully checked. She has also had kidney stones. her pain was in the pelvic area when she was lying down. She has a thyroid condition so she may not have the same health history as you.
Thank you for all your replies. I worry often about my health too, what sparked it all was a post on Facebook from a lady who had all the same symptoms and has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. So stupidly I have been trying to self diagnose but there are so many possibilities with the symptoms I have. I still worry about the cyst but they are adamant they have done everything they possibly could to rule out the likelihood of cancer, but that was back in 2017 so I worry this could have changed. I know antibiotics take a while to kick in I just need to be patient and hope this solves the problems.
