Hi Lancs65, I get pain around my right shoulder so I guess it is just as likely to occur on the left side too. Are you more prone to C or D?
Hi more prone to C though I think it's my anxiety causing it and reading too much into everything thanks for your reply I feel stupid think I must have health anxiety x
You are definitely not stupid. When my IBS started some 30/35 years ago it was D. At the time everything was below the waist line. Over the years it has changed constancy getting firmer with the years but still feels like liquid is running down over the solid which is inside me. Now this may sound stupid but I don't care, it feels like I have a long solid piece of poo running through the whole of my body touching lots of little nerves along the way (from my neck to my right groin). So now I get feelings and pain all over the place from my neck to my groin and then radiating feelings and pain (I think this may have something to do with the vegas nerve) up into my face, eyes and ears and down into me feet and toes.
I'd say mine is C but I go every day unprompted but it's like sheep droppings. I'm just going through a rough patch mentally and physically I think been huge life changes the past 9 months and struggling to settle with them being flippin mid 60s doesn't help!! Thanks for your kindness it really is appreciated
Chill out there. Even in Parkinsons most sufferers don't have IBS. There is no proof IBS causes Parkinsons. About 75% of PD patients don't have IBS. There is proof that an early symptom of PD is constipation. All over muscular pains are also a symptom of PD. But upper shoulder back pain can be caused by so many other things that linking straight to PD is a bit premature. Anxiety causes muscle tension for instance. And IBS flare ups.
As always ask your doctor. Get them to test you for neurological signs if you are that worried. If you have relatives with PD tell your doctor this too.
