Yes - and on some really bad days other than it just kicking my entire butt, I feel like I have been run over and backed up over by a large truck.
A little walk plus then putting feet up helps
Hi. Yes I do too and it can get really nasty. Magnesium oil rubbed in really helps. Also I'm big into Epsom salts baths. They really help with aches and pains. I'm having a course of Bowen Therapy (have a Google). It's really good, I also have some problems with my right shoulder & elbow as well as my back. Had my 3rd session with the therapist yesterday and I slept like a baby last night.
Hope this helps.
Yes, and because I suffer with my back, it goes into spams, and can't walk. I use a heat pad, it helps a bit.
Yes got bad lower back pain right now after a bad bout of IBS for the last week. Hoping it will go away soon but have resorted to some pain killers the last couple of days.
I do - had a bowel resection about 20 years ago and have had IBS ever since. Small of back can be very sore. Hot baths are magic. Other thing that vastly helped with bloating is eating sour dough bread and never ordinary sliced plastic wrapped bread.
Yes lower back pain a lot. Never can tell if its connected with the bloat, constipation and stomach pain. Who knows. Its all just guess work to be honest and I'm totally fed up with it today
Hello yes iv had bad back pain for years now and its worse with a flare up especially if im sick or have diarrhoea i feel like iv been battered all over and need painkillers hot baths with radox or epsom salts rub deep heat in then lay on a heat pad. My back sometimes gets so bad it goes into spasm and i have to rest up. I was told theyr not connected by a gp but i think they are.
Yes, also get backache frequently. It's all guess work trying
All guess work trying to live with all the aches and pains. And doctors have no answers. They don't want to know anything about ibs. Unless you submit to vast tests! But if you can't afford that then you have to live with your own trial and error for relief of the many symptoms
Do flare ups coincide with periods of stress? Tension in muscles can cause imbalances and back pain. Try relaxation techniques, body awareness techniques and I like to use a foam roller/trigger point cane and sit on a cricket call LOL. Might want to go see a physio in any case.
Definitely. The pain seems to radiate from front to back. Recently the back pain was so bad I had to use my TENS. I hope your episode didn't last too long.
Hi I've been experiencing back and side pain the last week but put it down to the fact I have lost so much weight and my bones are showing ,i can't sleep because of the pain I hope you sort it out I wouldn't wish it on anyone good luck and sorry I can't be of any help
I have a really painful lower back everytime my period is about to start which lasts for a few days. I get intense aching in my back which sometimes makes it go into spasms and the pain radiates all around to my lower abdomen. This apparently can happen with female ibs sufferers. The Dr prescribed me diazapam when my back was really bad and that really helped, the pack has lasted me for ages as I only use them before bed and obly when it is really painful and then my back is nearly back to normal the next day. I'm nearly out now so I'm not sure if the doc will prescribe me anymore.
Hello everyone, does anyone else feel that if it's not one thing it's another, and life is one long journey of pain and moaning? I have never felt like this in my life until the last year, but now I sometimes feel that if I were one of my pets it would be the final trip to the vet for the poor creature.
In reality, I live a "normal" life, put on a cheerful face and carry on, but EVERY day is a challenge.
This week has sent me to the chiropractor because my low back was so excruciating that I couldn't straighten up. He explained that, yes, anything going on in the bowel area can lead to pinched nerves. I also have a very sore shoulder and elbow, and the shoulder is leading to tightness and painfull headaches/neuralgia.
Once he had sorted me out, with many cracks of the spine, I was absolutely amazed, no pain in tummy, no severe bloat, no headache, I skipped away like a spring lamb.
Of course it's all back again now to a degree, so I'm off on a moment for some more.
While I'm at it, what do you all recommend for constipation? The pharmacist gave me lactose but I'm pretty sure it's quite the wrong thing.
My good wishes to you all, I know we've not really pinpointed our individual problems in reality, but for now ibs will have to do.
Have a good day

My son is a chiropractor and when it gets bad I go to him. A deep tissue massage, stretching and a good adjustment brings me relief....until next time!
For constipation I use Kombucha and a tea called Smooth Move by Traditional Medicinals. It works wonder.....it has peppermint, senns and licorice in it! Give it a try!
I meant Lactulose!
Silly me I have never tied the ibs and back pain together, had it for years.
Ibs not good at the moment and neither is my back. Never tried sourdough
bread, but I may give it a go.
Yes, after a bad espisode I have terrible backache for a couple of days but I just accept it now and take painkillers to try and ease it. I have been a lot better lately thank goodness.
