Hi
While I have been a sufferer of IBS for nearly 10 years now, the past 3 years have been, what I can only describe as, hell on earth.
My cramps got more painful, to the point I was bed bound and not able to leave my house. I had a fear of eating or drinking in a public place in case I had a bad attack. Some attack’s would leave me in the toilet for over an hour.
Back in June I was referred to a specialist who put me on 3 different types of medications for my IBS. 2 were pumped full of good bacteria, the other is a muscle relaxant to stop my stomach playing up at night.
While this has reduced my attack’s a lot, going from having 4/5 a week to a couple every other week, I still struggle with what to do when I actually have an attack.
My question is, how do you manage the pain? Is switch between been scrunched up on the toilet to lying flat on my back in bed with a hot water bottle.
I wondered if there were any other suggestions I could try to help reduce this pain, especially when I am in a public place and don’t have access to my bed or a hot water bottle!
