So I have been reading some horror stories. So how does Bisacodyl (Dulcolax) effect you? I need to take it for colonoscopy.

I take bisacodyl - one every night. The effects are mild in comparison to other prescribed medications - sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with cramps and wind. I am surprised they are advising you to use this for bowel prep as I very much doubt it will have the desired effect of clearing you out. They normally prescribe things like picolax for bowel prep.

Bisacodyl and Miralax is the prep.

Ok, not heard of Miralax but sounds like it’s the stronger one. Try and drink loads of water when taking these.

Miralax is Polyethylene Glycol.

Hello. I had to take 2 bisacodyl tablets twice daily for two days before my sigmoidoscopy. It wasn't too bad - just a bit of tummy cramp and only a couple of trips to the loo a few hours after each dose. I hope it's as trouble free for you. (I don't know about Miralax though).
