Hi whit 75 if you think it may be piles try germoloids ointment it is much better than anusol and it numbs the stinging and soreness and can be used internally too hope you feel better soon chrissy

Yes, I have this constantly. I think it is because of having to go to the loo so often the whole area becomes hyper-sensitive. I haven`t found anything that helps. Someone else has suggested Germoloids but that gives me a bad burning sensation so be careful with it!

Thank you 😊 is your like an ache?

Yes it is. I`ve had numerous internal examinations over the past few years and been told that I don`t have significant piles. In Prof Whorwell`s book Take Control of your IBS he says that in people with IBS the whole of the gut including the rectum is hypersensitive

Thank you 😊 I'm just so worried about it πŸ˜’ I have to have the camera put in on Tuesday 😩 As a small nodule was found & go didn't know if it was a pile or not!! But it feels further up & just feels like something is there! Just a constant feeling & ache πŸ˜–

No wish to alarm you but I had something similar on an off for months. After 3 visits to GP I eventually was referred to hospital dreading an op for piles. Turned out to be anal cancer which I had never heard of and was treated with radiotherapy. It's very rare apparently so don't be fobbed off as I was by my GP!

Thank you for your reply, I went to the gp yesterday & she could feel a small nodule! But referred me for the camera thing (sorry can't remember what it's called) just to be checked!! But I have this constant feeling at the moment that something is there πŸ˜’ I haven't bled at all .

My doc explained to me that there are a lot of nerve endings there which cause pain just like other parts of body. I have the ache and sometimes extremely sharp knife like pains. I sit and try to relax and after a while it does subside.

Thank you

Glad you saw the GP and hope all goes well for you. Do let us know how you get on. You will get lots of help from the people you see. Haven't had the camera but lots of other tests. I'm not the bravest of people but have been fine and found all the hospital staff amazing!

Thank you 😊 what were your symptoms?? And how were you diagnosed?? Yes I will keep you updated! I go in Tuesday to have it done.

I felt I had piles on and off for some time having had them in the past. Used Anusol and others. Eventually mentioned it to the doctor who had a very quick look and said it was skin tags! Several months later and after a few more GP visits I eventually saw a GP who was great and said she could feel something. Referred to a colorectal consultant who immediately mentioned the C word. Had MRI, CT and biopsies which confirmed. Then had the radiotherapy plus chemo tablets. Currently cleared of cancer but have regular checks and scans.

Thank you for getting back to me 😊 Glad you are clear 😊 I've never had piles & had thought this could be but I'm not sure as the gp was unclear!! I'm absolutely scared stiff at the moment 😩 This feeling in my bottom is horrible & im not sure if I'm making it worse by worrying aswell πŸ˜’

You will worry it's only natural, I still worry. Highly likely yours is something noncancerous . I had no idea and didn't think it necessary to go to the doctor. I didn't have pain, just an uncomfortable feeling. I was more concerned I may have to have an operation for piles! Try to remain positive, have your camera procedure and take it from there. I know it's hard but we can't change things by worrying as I know full well. Good luck and keep in touch.

Hi I had it done today & all was ok! Had a couple of biopsies taken on a patchy area so won't completely relax till I get the results! I was asked if I take a lot of senna though πŸ€”
