Been suffering with ibs d&c for 12 years. I've had a good few weeks but started a bad attacK 24 hours ago. I've recently started to get pains in my ribs and sides either before an attack or as I am digesting and gurgling away. Sometimes they are like very sharp muscle spasms.
Curious to see if this is something anyone suffers with?
Hi. Interested to read your post as I have been suffering from what may be something similar. I've had IBS for years and up until a few weeks back it was a case of abdominal cramps/spasms/pains and disturbed bowel habit. Recently I started to get these fierce pains - almost gripping in nature, rather than the usual spasms, higher up - just under the bottom of my ribs plus extraordinary trapped wind. Does this sound familiar? Nothing helped really - the usual cocktail of Mebeverine and Buscopan didn't seem to do anything. Then, suddenly, it all improved.
Sounds very familiar!! I've had it on and off for a while. Last night was a bad night, sharp spasams awful trapped wind. Fingers crossed it will start to ease and sort itself out. Thankfully I aM able to work from home as barely slept

Thank you. I'm beginning to think I have picked up a bug. The pain is horrendous and much more intense than usual and shoots up into my ribs. Really Achey and started to feel very fluey as the day has gone on 😔.
Ah. Does sound bug-like. But also rather like what I had, too. Perhaps I also had a bug which simply exacerbated my IBS at the same time. Hope it passes quickly!
