I know everyone is different but is this normal. Thirty minutes after eating had cramping. Went to the loo, passed gas but even after a bowel movement the discomfort is still there, despite me laying on the settee with a hot water bottle.
I always thought the pain went after a bowel movement.

Hi Forestina,
It sounds as if you haven't completely emptied your bowel even though you may think you have.
I have a problem with incomplete evacuation (although stools are soft) and have to take Movicol every night, even so, I occasionally need to also use a mini-enema or glycerine suppository the following day to completely clear things out.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it.

Hi, I have the same problem. Do you see a Gastroenterologist, or have done a Barium enema or colonoscopy to tune out anything? Have you tried Bentyl for the cramping? I saw alot of great reviews on it. My gastro did prescribe it for me, I think your GP can prescribe it too, unfortunately, it made me even more constipated. But everyone is different and it may work great for you.
Yes i always thought that as well but like you i am in pain for quite a while after i have D. Sometimes im in the toilet for half an hr to an hour. Then still have terrible pain half an hour later sometimes even longer. Hot water bottle helps a wee bit. I went private to get help but only last month. So waiting to see if what she gave me works. Drops and a drink. She says 4 -6 weeks. Will try to keep you imformed.
