So after suffering with stomach problems for most of my early 20's I was finally diagnosed with 'suspected IBS' and prescribed mebeverine 3 times a day 20mins before food.
I have recently swapped my morning tablet for aloe vera juice and attempting to cut dairy out of my diet which isn't go so well....
However for the last week or 2 I have experienced horrendous smelling flatulance mostly in the mornings after a bowel movement & in the evenings after tea. I am also looking/feeling extra 'bloated' which appears kind of 'pregnant' when I'm 99% sure I'm not.
After months of food diaries I can't specifically put my symptoms down to specific foods, sometimes I think I've nailed something & then the pattern changes.
I have also occasionally experienced some 'lube' like sensation when passing wind while urinating.....
When I go to the doctors they don't seem very convinced I'm experiencing these things....& I end up leaving frustrated & without help.
I just wondered whether anyone could offer any advise?

Hey sounds awful. What is the mebeverine for? Not sure about the wind but the lube type thing is just mucus from your body don't worry about it. This can come out sometimes usually if nothing else does
I think the only reliable way to pinpoint the problem foods is to go on the low-FODMAP diet and, once the gut has settled down, do the challenges. I've been doing that, and the diet got rid of my bloating and discomfort. I've started doing the challenges, and so far found that lactose is not the problem and wheat certainly is one.
Over the years I have tried gluten free & low fod-map on & off without noticing a real difference....nothing soothes the appearance of my bloating...discomfort varies....I’ve also been subject to top & bottom cameras without any answers to my problem.
I’ve come to the unfortunate acceptance that I love food but food hates me....however the current flatulent issue is a big problem....
I have been taken mebeverine for about 18 months...I’m also on contraceptive pills...but obviously they only claim to be 99% effective so if you do get caught out there asses are covered...hence why I said 99% sure...
Thanks for your reply. Then they guess you believe you aren’t pregnant. I hope you can find ways to feel better soon from your IBS symptoms. I think it’s trial and error as to what works. I’m having pain myself right now which is why I woke up in the middle of the night. There are a couple of tests for IBS but o don’t think they are accurate.
