Any one had Sacral Nerve Modulation for faecal incontinence
Hi I was offered the implant but told the consultant I would think about it - I was nervous as I heard quite a lot of negative comments regarding pain at the implantation site and my physiotherapist said she didn't know anyone that it had helped! As far as I remember before they implant it properly you trial it for 2 weeks? To be honest it's my last option as I've tried everything else so I was going to ask if I could give it a go so I would be interested to hear from other people. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice other than going back to see your consultant perhaps the device needs adjusting.
Thanks for reply. I had two week trial and was fine no accidents. Managed to get funding for permanent implant on NHS was over the moon unfortunately not seen any I improvement despite adjustments. Consultant remains positive that I will benefit given time. As to your concern over pain I had no pain on implant sight . Both temporary and permanent operations were very straightforward and recovery was very quick. I am still hopeful that eventually I will see improvement and would like to hear from anyone who had similar experience.
Good luck
