Awww poor you. Is this normal or unusual for you? Could you be poorly rather that “business as usual”?
I had constant diarrhoea for most of my adult life from one cause or another. I was prescribed Symprove about 9 months ago and after the 12 week course, I feel I have had my own miracle! I have to remain on it for life according to my gastroenterologist but it’s worth it. Expensive but after the full 12 week course, maintenance dose can be worked out. Good luck
Dan. You must go to your Doctor and get a diagnosis. You might have salmonella or picked up a bug if you have been out of the UK recently. Both of which can be treated and cured quickly.
Do not assume you have IBS because you have had diarrhoea for one week.
If you don’t want the Doc then go to a chemist and get advice there. They are always happy to helps
All the best, Angus
i find the pharmacists very helpful as well for minor things and they are open on a weekend as well if you work mon through friday full time so they are more convenient than the gp.
if its something private you can always ask them can you go into the back where its nice and private away from the other customers.
if they say make a gp appointment then when you make the appointment tell the receptionist you have been to the pharmacist and they said to make a gp appointment and they should give you an appointment no problem.
I can easily have it for a week, or longer. The general rule for normally healthy people is more than a few days = go to the Dr. as it can be so many things. From a simply stomach flu to food poisoning to more chronic issues. I would say in most cases - some form of probiotic can assit in restoring the gut, but as has been found in the prolific use of probiotics now, some people react badly to some of them so its best to see a Dr for suggestions specific to you.
