What do you eat when your tummy feels bad?

My symptoms are bad at the mo, bloating, wind, gurgling, nauseous, pain in tummy, feeling I need the loo etc, basically my digestive system feels very unsettled. Thing is when I feel like this I don't want to eat and then I end up in a bit of a vicious cycle as an empty stomach seems to make me even more windy and bloated! But what to eat? I want to lay off anything high fodmap, dairy, wheat, high fibre fruit and veg. But that doesn't leave much to the imagination. What do you eat when you are feeling bad?

Steamed carrots and potatoes and egg used to work well for me.

Have you been checked out for SIBO/ Candida? I had it for years without knowing it. This article includes the main symptoms of each:

Hope this helps,

I eat clear chicken soup and dry unleavened crackers, and then build up to plain chicken and white rice, maybe cooked carrots. Very light diet just for day or two. Even pkt quavers, i know it sounds funny, but they are very light!

Hi rustdog.

Ive learnt over years my belly does not do gluten( bread anything yeasty as it bloats me and give me major pain) i also cannot eat gluten, seeds, wheat anything hi fibre.

Onions, garlic and dairy ....

It sounds horrendous but there is so many free from and milk i have soya and all rest i eat is gluten free, bread was best thing i ever gave up...

since then i have had no pain...

I also take a good probiotic, digestibe enzyme and peppermint capsules all half

Hour before i eat... it stops cramps, wind and anything else .

I pretty much eat what i want now just with soya milk and no gluten it pretty easy once u get used to it plus it more healthy as i make all my own food now... so it alot of veg and chicken and fruits...

I also got checked for candida as i had been on antibiotics ALOT and that kills all ur good gut bacteria and can gibe u leaky gut so i gave up sugar anything sweet for 6 weeks and ate all stuff candida hates and it was awful like a alien invacuation but i feel so much better for it plus added bonus i lost over stone in weight

Plain foods such as rice or gf toast and bananas. I sometimes nibble on plain rice cakes or gluten free ginger biscuits. Try peppermint or ginger base teas. Ginger is great x

I've been there . Ok go on a gluton free diet there is so much you can eat now look in the free from aisles in supermarkets. I do have other problems re G I 23 polyps removed in 3 sessions and one more to go after I demanded colonoscopy after telling me that as my last one was clear I didn't need one also found diverticulitis I didn't know I had. Well try the G F diet it worked for me, no more bloating falling asleep or diary good luck

Thanks all. Gluten free, especially giving up bread definitely helps me but with a gluten eating family in the house there is always too much temptation in the house, that's where I went wrong this weekend, too much chocolate and bread 😬
