Stomach pain
Thank you for posting Wagit and I hope that you get some relief.
Hi wagit,
Been on a course of Lanzoprazole. They stop acid and did reduce pain. Unfortunately , they made the D in IBS D worse. This only happened when taken daily as a course , they were fine when taken as and when required.
Should you also be unlucky and experience the same , I can advise that a course of Renitidine tablets did same job without the increased attacks of D.
Hope this information useful

Hi there,
I've been on lanzaprosole for around 10 years daily increasing dose up to 4 a day when very bad stomach pains. I also found the additional ranitidine would help if that didn't work to take the edge off.
I'm due to have the double camera procedure on Friday because my ibs d had got so bad in recent months and I was told to stop taking any stomach meds for 2 weeks before it.
Now every time I eat I'm hit with massive heartburn I'm only allowed gavisgon but even that only stops it for a short time.
I had hoped that I'd be able to stop the lanzaprosole as yes it can make ibs d worse - my gp was the one who said take 4 lanzaprosole for the bad pain but only told me 3 months ago it makes the d worse!
Hope your okay with it!
Hi new to all this so not sure what d stands for? think it might be digestion, I've been on my Meds now for 4 days and touch wood my symptoms have eased so hoping the doctor as hit the nail on the head I'm hoping it continues this way.
Hi,
D -in IBS D stands for Diarrhea, Some have IBS C where C is constipation. Others have IBS with alternating D and C symptoms.
Hope that helps and glad to hear your symptoms improved. Everybody with IBS has slightly different symptoms and reactions to foods drinks and Medicines.
Best of luck
