Probiotics for constipation

Hi, I have suffered from constipation and sensitive stomach on and of all my life. I had a hysterectomy three years ago, which has left me with IBS and really bad constipation. I now have to take laxatives daily to go to the loo, which comes with terrible side effects irritating my stomach even more. I know all the things to take eat and drink for constipation, which unfortunately doesn't make any difference. Can anyone recommend pre/probiotics for constipation

Thankyou in advance

I’ve heard that Alflorex is a good probiotic. It’s sold in pharmacies and other places if you want to goggle it.

I use one tablespoon Tesco milled flaxseed sprinkled on cereal for breakfast. It does not look good but there’s no taste.

If you ‘google’ it, flaxseed also has a lot of goodness in it, apart from being good for constipation.

Just be careful on the amount you need. I started off with a teaspoon and then went up to a tablespoon. You can take more if required.

Hope this helps.

Alflorex or Starpowa gummies.

Have used both with varying degrees of success.

I found Kefir very good for constipation too ( plain variety).
