After being told I had IBS years ago, My symptoms being only really gas. I tried an elimination diet, and found after eliminating dairy and soy my symptoms disappear. It's only been 3 weeks but I'm really hoping this is the case.
Does anybody have any experience with this? Is it not that simple and it could be IBS.
Thanks

That is a lot of food groups to give up, but it's worth it. Thank you
These are my triggers too
It usually takes 2/3 weeks to have an effect
If you go abroad for hokidays Google a translation of what you can't eat print it out and show it it in restaurants - that's what I've done and it works very well in France and Italy
Good to know you have same triggers, I'm just hoping nothing else comes out the woodwork so I can lead a pretty normal life.
I have read on here many times that quite a lot of people cannot tolerate soy or dairy. I know it sounds daft but I am just using up the ready made cappuccino sachets that I have in my cupboard and then I will be drinking the Lactose free milk and dairy free products to see how I get on. I am also looking at the FODMAP diet but am having to do this myself as the funding for a Dietician was removed some years ago. I had had an appointment with one and was then told 7 months down the line that the funding had been removed albeit I will contact my doctor again next week to see if the funding has been reinstated so at least I can have some help whilst following the FODMAP diet.
On saying the above thought, I will definitely be going Lactose free as that seems to be the main culprit with dairy.
Been on Fodmap for a few months now. I am sure cutting out dairy and soy has worked for me. already wheat free but have lost so much weight since following FODMAP. Need to get back to some normality soon but when something works its scary to introduce things you think might make you ill again.
