High fibre laxatives and diets don't suit everybody and commonly cause wind and bloating. They certainly don't suit me and had very little effect on my bowel movements either - just left me feeling very uncomfortable
Try a different type of laxative such as Movicol or Dulcolax.

Thank you so much for your reply... l know l worried about it all night because
the bloat went on into the night too. l will not use Metamucil again!!
I did start passing gas this morning. Relief for me!!
Hi, I have mentioned mago7 before, I use straight on psyllium hush with water before each meal too. I have slow Transit time, and metamucil's main ingredient is psyllium, which can cause gas, and kinda move me slow. I take it to bulk my stool, but use the Mago7 to get it outta there. It does not enter your bloodstream as a supplement... Just again gets it moved.
I had a bottle of it in my house for six months before I tried it...I wash I did not do that now! It has also helped the band ligation heal very rapidly, as I did not have to mess with stool softeners (which make my heart palpate) or any chemical laxitives or teas that cause cramping. It is just a mineral that does soften stool, and being oxygenated moves it out of you. Today I feel as though the banding is healed and done, it was quite painful, but thank God I did not have any constipation issues during this time...it would have quadrupled the healing! I told my husband I should work for this company...I am bringing it to my colorectal surgeon tomorrow as everyone should be made aware of this stuff who is constipated. I am getting older, and all of this started happening as I was....just changes that occur as you age. Anyway have a good day, be careful with too much psyllium little by little till you adjust to that too.
By the way miralax, which I have tried 3x's is not natural, takes days to work, really a joke...and I gave it a good go...read what it made out of, and look up a few sites, it is not healthy, my opinion, along with some good naturopaths, and doctors who know what they are doing. Another good product is Natural Calm, I used the plain one for years, it is magnesium citrate I believe, worked well for a long time, this will be considered a supplement, as the magnesium will enter your blood stream, which most people are deficient in...try that, it will move things, and cause no cramping either. Buy off net, very expensive, just natural calm without calcium, as that constipated me. I guess that's my input...hope you get things moving better!
I treat my IBS C the natural way after reading a post on here and I use Golden Linseed (I purchase the organic one from Holland & Barratt). I soak it in water for 1/2 an hour to an hour and then consume. This works a treat for me and is natural.
