Symprove?? : Hi there does anyone use symprove... - IBS Network
Symprove??
What is it?
Symprove is a liquid probiotic, very expensive and I have done 2 course of it but unfortunately did nothing for me, hope it works for you.
Thanks Nick.
I've had IBS-d for 25 years and although with Imodium, when required, and a very careful diet have allowed me to carry on, nothing reduced the pain and reduced the bloating like Symprove. I noticed almost straight away that it helped. I did find that I am still taking a reduced dose after 2 years but lots have been helped in the 12 week course. Maybe it's better if you've not had it so long. The people on the phone are usually sufferers too so are great to talk to. Good luck.
I started using it when the trials King's College did were so positive (a couple of years ago). It helps me a lot - but it's expensive so I use it for a while and then stop until I have a flare up again. Probably not the best way to do it! Probiotics are personal - the strains in them may suit one person but not another. I'd say give it a go and persevere for a month because the results may not be immediate.
I started using it and for the first 3-4 days I felt great, but then after that it just made me more constipated than normal. From what I hear, it's aimed more at people with IBS-D. If this is what you have, it's worth giving it a go. I will warn you that it's expensive (about £21 a bottle, which lasts about a week) and is one of the most vile things i've ever tasted (the mango flavour is better). Hope this helps.
I have been on symprove for two weeks now, Symprove say don't expect any results for 5-6weeks do I am just persevering and hopefully it will help.
