Would also suggest it might be helpful for you to get the Monash University app as they categorise food into a traffic light system to which you can easily refer wherever you are. Monash University developed the whole system and are continually adding new items as they test them.

Agree with sashapet.

The complete low-FODMAP diet and the low-FODMAP diet cookbook. They are my bibles and the recipes are really good. They have a good variety of everything and teach you how to cook all those meals you love in a fodmap friendly way which then gives you the confidence to adapt any recipe you find, to be fodmap suitable. The first one has a lot of explanation at the start about fodmap and the foods and most importantly WHY you can't eat them which I found helpful rather than just being told not to. Makes it easier to stick to when you have theory behind it I think. The second one, as it says is mostly a cookbook.

Great that you're reading up early. My dietician normally sees people before they start the diet, but I had started a couple of days early. As a result I had a LOT of questions as I was already trying to navigate the foods I could and couldn't eat. By looking at it now you'll be in a better position to talk to the dietician, and ask about specific recipes/modifications/substitutes.

Even a few days will let you know what you're craving, or what nutrients you might be accidentally missing. Let us know how it goes. It's hard, but it's not forever.

Hi Kat28, My son just sent me this book for Christmas & it's great.

It gives a lot of information about IBS and some great recipes. It can be purchased off Amazon.
