Does anyone know with pip i was on high rate mobility indenfinly now gone to pip havent got the award for high pip but i do need a shooter i heard somethink that they will give you a£2000 so you can get a schooter or car is this right

Hi Cathy1110,

You say 'was' on high rate mobility. That was DLA (Disability Living Allowance). PIP is called Enhanced rate mobility.

If you are in receipt of the Enhanced rate - you can choose to use your mobility allowance to rent a scooter. The website is: motability.co.uk/ - click on Cars and Scooters tab towards the top of the page. Scroll down until you come to Scooters - about the fourth option.

Not herd of £2000 - though I do have a motability car.

Hi you need to go to WELLFARE RIGHTS to be sure and you mit have to overturn their desision by way of an adviser at the well fare rights. usually at citizens advise or at your local council offices.

Do a search for 4UP it is on facebook as well, it is a mine of information about DLA and PIP.

You have to join the page to ask questions I belive.

At the top of the page you will find the files that you will need. The £2000 is if you are turned down for PIP moterbilty and you have had a car for I think it is 3 years is the payment that they will give you. Best of luck to you. Peter
