Desperate for continuous bloating cure

Hi guys :) was wondering if anyone had any advice because this chronic bloat/constipation fiasco is driving me insane!! (Sorry this is a bit long)

I'm 18 and I started getting continuously bloated around 3 years ago. I'd put on a lot of weight in a short time, started losing it at the same time i'd noticed i was getting bloated. I realised that it was probably because of the amount of whole grains i ate, and breakfast cereals, probably way too much fruit. I didnt change it much though as i was still keen on being healthy.

i've been an ideal weight for about 2 years but this means my bloating is sooooo obvious, i literally look about 5 months pregnant most days its ridiculous..its literally making me so miserable because i can never fit into a lot of my skirts/jeans unless i dont eat all day!!!

and i can never ever go to the toilet! i will only go properly about once a week, its horrible and the bloat just builds up and causes me fatigue.

I've been to the doctors many times about it , who claim it just IBS-c and for a good few months i've been trying to go gluten free and on low fodmap as much as i can and stay away from lactose and healthy foods i like, like beans, apples, grains, sweetcorn, green veg, etc. it helped for a bit but i'm still getting continuous bloating. I also get horrible heartburn and indigestion, burping, acid after most meals ...even if its just a jacket potato

I also have endometriosis and i'm not sure if this affects anything? I am quite small and my torso is very small so everything just feels so cramped

when i cut out gluten completely and started eating white/gluten free bread, rice cakes, rice cereal etc (Which i still do sometimes, but i mainly stick to potatoes for lunches etc) my acne got really really bad because they're obviously high glycemic foods. i'm trying to balance it out now but the constipation still is so bad, it doesnt hurt much but my stomach is just so heavy

my meals during the day usually go something like this: yoghurt or oat or rice cereal/porridge for breakfast, potato salad for lunch, fruit, chocolate, crisps or nut snacks , and something like GF pasta or fish and potatoes with vegetables for dinner

i dislike keep going to the doctors and i feel like they don't really help me much...i've tried magnesium tablets too aswell as probiotics

if anyone has any advice or share anything that helped them it would be great i'd really appreciate anything. i'm so fed up of it lol..

thank you :-)

Movicol will solve the constipation. Daily 1 sachet will keep it going its gentle too.

Has to be stirred and wit until goes Chrystal clear to work best. I take a lot of Codeine for pain so constipation looms and this beats it.

And dont worry re 7 days thing just take it daily or else with end up with piles not nice as I found out too late.

You need to take a high amount of citrate or oxide. About 800 to 1200mg. I have had Ibs c almost my whole life and am now in my fifties. This is the best natural supplement to take for this condition and I have tried many. Even my consultant recommended it. I take it every day. You must take it on an empty stomach just before bed with lots of water. I would start with a high dose initially just to clear you out. Even if it means taking a few capsules. I sometimes take 6 200mg capsules. Capsules are the best not tablets and it has to be citrate or oxide as these are the ones that work for constipation. There is a lot of information about constipation and magnesium on the internet. There is a site called Ibs tales that discusses this. The ones I take are either Now foods Magnesium citrate, Solgar Magnesium Citrate or Life extensions. I get mine from the US on a site called iHerb, but you can get them on Amazon. There are other magnesium oxide products specifically for colon cleansing called Mag 07, Colosan and Oxypowder. They are a bit expensive but are amazing. I use these in between. No cramps no bloating, just relief. You can get these on Amazon as well. Don't suffer any longer. By the way I also follow a low fodmap diet through a dietician but this alone does not help constipation. Let me know how you get on.

I took 400mg last night but nothing has happened yet (nor do I feel like anything is happening) maybe I should have taken more but I didn't want to over do it as my first dosage. hopefully something happens!

I find 490mg too little. Try doubling that tonight. You can't overdose on it. You must take it on an empty stomach with lots of water. What type of magnesium did you take? It should be citrate or oxide as these are the ones that work for constipation.

citrate, the one you suggested. I'll make sure to have had dinner a few hours before i take it later, and i'll take a couple more capsules. thanks!

Little update. I've been taking 800mg every day but only once has it done something. do I still need to be following a strict low fodmap diet when taking these? I have been a little off track so maybe that's why

Hi Maybe you should up the dose, or try the other magnesium products for colon cleansing called Mag07, Colosan or Oxypowder. Oxypowder is the best but most expensive. You can find them on Amazon or a place called the Finchley clinic. You can also read the reviews of how they have helped others.

Try going on 2 garlic tablets a day a good probiotic and cut out carbs.

You need to cut out corn & corn products- which most GF stuff is made of. The best way to eat for these intestinal issues is paleo & eat VERY clean. No processed foods, no grains, low fructose fruits, low FODMAP

Thank you, I will try. I find that eating clean is really difficult (I'm a sucker for sugar and carbs) and expensive and I'm a student with a very low budget.

Eating clean is just eating "real" food. Fruits, veggies, meat, eggs, cheese, potatoes. You can go to Walmart or an Aldi's and get cheap "real" food. It's worth not having the pain.

I was addicted to sugar, but when I cleaned up my diet and stopped eating grains, I stopped craving sugar. You crave sugar cuz your intestines are damaged and not absorbing nutrients to give your body energy, so the body craves the fastest way to get energy...sugar
