Bowels improved with asthma treatment.

Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice. I've suffered with loose stools and diarrhoea for about a year now. Very rarely I have a more normal movement (but never completely normal). I have pain occasionally lower left abdomen and sometimes when I need to go poo I have very little warning and break out in hots sweats (this is quite rare). My dr diagnosed me with IBS. I've had an asthma exacerbation recently and am on oral steroids. I've noticed that my bowels are improving with the prednisone too. Yesterday I did a normal poo for the first time in a year!!! Does anyone have any advice on whether I should go back to the dr re diagnosis?

Hi binar

Interesting you've found your bowels improving as your taking oral steroids. Could well be inflammatory bowel , urgency is another symptom as is feeling unwell after going. Did you have a colonoscopy before IBS was diagnosed?. Well worth talking to your GP if your symptoms worsen again once you've stopped the steroids. Good luck.
