Bad day today

Eurgh feeling lime absolute crap today. Have dragged myself through work couldnt wait to race out the door and get home. Vicious circle at the moment of needing to have a snack to take pankillers at bedtime then waking at 5am with a sore belly. Running to toilet then feeling starving. Eating brekky then sore belly begins again. I bloody hate ibs and how ill and drained it makes me feel. Just venting folks hope u all having a better day?

I completely sympathise. I'm on holiday, it's the second full day and I feel terrible. Had a really bad day, felt so sick. Admittedly yesterday I drank alcohol which probably didn't help... But I'm on holiday and everyone else is having fun. It's just not fair!

I'm sorry you feel stuck but IBS has to be accepted and understand that to get better it has to be a way of life. You are going to have to find out what is triggering this. Something, the snack or the breakfast, is not good for you. Hope it improves.

I know how you feel, I had years of the same thing.

You could try this as a snack or alternative to bread.

1/4 cup almond flour

1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce

1 egg

Pinch of

salt

1/4 teaspoon baking power

Mix egg and apple sauce together

Add all the other dry ingredients and mix

Spay a cup with coconut oil or olive oil pour into cup tap to get any air bubbles out put in microwave for 2 mins

Leave for a minute In cup take out cut in half and toast it.

You can put cinnamon and dried fruit in which is nice.

It's makes a nice snack with nothing bad in it.

You can make it in advance.

I suppose you have to find out what works for you.

I've had ibs for over 30 years and know what triggers it off so I don't eat those foods, I had times where I could not move because of the pain and feeling like I would pass out when going to the toilet, breathing exercises helped me as well.

I have a friend with it and her trigger foods are different to mine so it trial and error.

I hope you find a solution

It's hard and people who don't suffer don't understand.

Apples / applesauce are high in FODMAPS, which should be avoided for anyone with IBS.

I'm very sorry to hear that you're having a bad day today, Montykat. I empathize as well, having far more "bad days" than I have good. And it seems anytime I need to leave my home, I'm even worse, most likely due to the stress trigger of being anxious that I'll get sick when out. It's a vicious cycle and difficult to live with for sure.

I hope tomorrow (or even later today!) will be far better for you. Wish I had some helpful words. Check out the FODMAP diet online, and make sure that none of the snacks or meals you're eating are high in FODMAPs.

Not what you're looking for?
