Giardia

I have recently been diagnosed with giardia. Has anyone been treated and beat this? It is causing so much pain in my stomach.

Yes I had it a few years ago.it took ages to get a diagnosis.I lost a stone in weight and felt very ill.

I had two courses of antibiotics metronidasole.Cant spell it sorry.

I had a lot of pain picked the bug up in Greece.Never been back there since.

Yes, had it many years ago and treated with a Flagyl antibiotic which will make you feel worse before getting better.

Oregano oil ( four drops in teaspoon olive oil twice a day for 2-3 weeks)has been shown in research to be very effective Really calms things down and very safe

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but get it treated quickly. My son picked it up from India and was diagnosed with cryptosporidium before they noticed the guardia. 14 months later he still has chronic diarrhoea and is under a consultant for post infection inflammatory disease.

I believe if he had been treated sooner he wouldn't be in this position now.

Thanks. I am on antibiotics for it now! Hope I get better. It is dreadful.

Yes it's awful but stick with the metronidazole ( flagyl ) And once finished get retested a few weeks later to make sure it's all gone. It's a very heavy medicine to take and takes its toll on your body but u need it .
