I have been struggling for the past few years and have been diagnosed with ibs can this make you feel low in mood
Hi can anyone advise: I have been struggling for... - IBS Network
Hi can anyone advise
Yes, IBS can make you feel low, for many different reasons. For some it might be the chronic pain, others the exhaustion of always having to go the toilet. Some people become reclusive and don't go out as much because they are embarrassed by their IBS or are worried about what will happen if they need the toilet urgently. They subsequently lose touch with friends/feel isolated. It's also worth noting that depression can even cause IBS, too.
Do any of the above apply to you?
Hi thank you for that yes I get quite low it happens before I have an episode of ibs
Have you looked into why you get low? Perhaps you can spot some signs and some triggers and learn to find ways to manage these feelings to help minimise the chance of an episode.
