Movicol

Hi everybody. I have done the clearout using movicol as suggested in the ibs solutions book, however, I did this yesterday. Last drink of the water was a about 8pm last night. I took 8 satchets with one litre of water.

I have still not been to the loo, properly , today.

Im wondering why. Has anybody else done this?

Hi - funnily enough I also did this yesterday following the same book!

I took the Movicol starting 8.30a.m. and finishing about 2 p.m. First motion was about mid-day followed by 2 more around 6p.m. and then this morning I had 2 more (I had taken 2 teaspoons of Normacol after breakfast).All passed easily but they weren`t as loose or urgent as I had expected. I think I had expected it to be as extreme as before a colonoscopy!.The book does say that Movicol is milder than the other laxatives. At the moment I do feel as if I could produce some more if I tried but I`m waiting until I feel a strong urge to go.

I hope things work out well for you. After reading the book I felt much more optimistic but at the moment I`m not sure - will just have to hope for the best over the coming days.
