Help for Xmas please Phenergan.

Can anybody help please. I have started the Phenergan and last night took two tablets, I was awake until 3am and when awake had usual bad tummy ache. Took 2 Buscapan and dozed. We are meant to be going to my daughters Xmas day and have presents etc. Can anyone help and has anyone else had problems with Phenergan, I am so disappointed as I really thought this was going to be the answer.

Hi Croque,

As I said previously, Phenergan is a good solution for some of us regarding morning diarrhoea. As far as I know, it doesn't work on other symptoms, e.g. pain (unless it's diarrhoea-related), so, if multiple morning rushes to the bathroom aren't your problem, then this is most likely not for you.

If you think your pain might be caused by wind and gas, you could try taking baby gripe water as posted on here by another member recently. I've been trying it out myself these past few days and it does help if taken after meals.

Yes I do have morning D. I wake up with painful tummy and take a couple of Buscapan and it's painful until I go to the toilet about 9.

I have noticed I seem a bit better during the day since I've taken the Phenergan but I do have a lot of gas early morning as well. I will try the gripe water.

I am a lady by the way in her 60s, I have always suffered Depression/anxiety but the IBS has been less than a year.

It's an old fashioned anti histamine which has a sedative in it , very mild but has given me a life back from IbsD after 41 years of torture . Worth a try if your Ibs isn't food related .

I had the same problem when took phenergan first night. Couldnt sleep at first then nightmares. Took half tab then daily and was ok just a little drowsy . Havnt taken it in a while now.

Just take half sedative some days and one or half immodium on days when needed...like xmas day ! Or if visiting
