I was on Cholestyramine a little while ago but found it did not really help, so gave up.

Good luck, I hope it helps you.

I have been taking Cholestyramine for several years at the suggestion of Prof. Read and find it very effective indeed. It is not really something that you "come off" and you can vary the dose according to what suits you. A couple of years ago another doctor told me to stop taking it which I did for several months, but the bouts of diarrhoea soon began again so I started taking it again and I hardly ever get diarrhoea. It has made a huge difference to my life.

Hi Brandy,is it something you have on prescription or over the counter.

Also what does it do example, stop pain, stop diarrhoea, constipation or so on and so on. What exactly is it medicine,or tablet or a drink.

I would be grateful for any information to stop this bloody pain.

It is a prescription medicine also known as Questran. It comes i n sachets and you dissolve it in water before eating. The dose varies according to your need but I take one sachet before my main meal. For me it stops diarrhoea. You may find this link useful: netdoctor.co.uk/heart-and-b...
