Help where has cholestyramine gone?
Hi, I don't have a problem with getting meditation but I do know a few people who have, for them it's been a problem with delivery to pharmacies. I have started to introduce fermented food into my diet with varying results. I have IBS and diverticular disease. I have to take it very gently or a experience diarrhoea. I have always liked fermented and pickled food but I'm seem to be so sensitive to everything now. I'm persevering, I found just a little every day or other day has had the best results. Good luck 💛
My pharmacy changed me to a generic Cholestyramine made by Mylan. I haven't had any trouble getting that. Another alternative is Colestid which is completely tasteless and very grainy, but does the same job.
I haven't been able to get any for at least 18 months. I have an alternative prescription which doesn't work anywhere near as well and it took me over a year without meds to get the prescription.
I will be trying to refill mine soon. Was not aware it was hard to get. Will post if able/unable to obtain.
Suddenly I too am unable to get Cholestryamine or Questran. So my doctor instead prescribed me Prevalite. The weird thing was not that it wasn't in stock but that the NDC number was getting blocked by the FDA. Today I have reached out to the manufacturer Sandoz and to the FDA. Both are investigating and say they will get back to me on this matter. Why is the question I am seeking.
