Jelly stuff is put on your body so that the hand held mouse thingy can slide over you.
Much like an ultrasound for, pregnant mums
I have had kidney stones, way back in 1973, but I am having pains again( as well as everything else) so my Doctor has asked for this exam as well.
You will be able to,see what is happening , the last, time I had it done I saw the pictures as they did it.
.
You could ask radiographer to look at bladder. If they ask you to drink lots of water before that will help with looking at ovaries/uterus (ifapplicable) and probably bladder
Hi there, It is really simple and totally painless. same as pregnant women have to see the baby. They just put a gel on your tummy and then slide like an upside down microphone over your tum. Easy....try asking them to include your bladder it will only take a second or two to add that and they might just do it anyway. Hope all is well.
Good morning, you will know if they are gonna check your bladder as they will have you drink copious amounts of water and hold it, this inflates the bladder like a balloon so they can see it on the ultrasound. Your insides will show on a small tv screen that is black n white, it can be hard to identify things, but the technician can read them clearly. The tech is not supposed to tell you anything, the results go to your doc and they will contact you if there is an issue. Good luck its a very easy test.
I have had it done many times with water and you see the bladder and it's easy. the last time they could see it without the water because they did what they call a transvaginal the procedure involves a wand they insert in the vagina to mostly see the reproductive system, but they can also see the bladder as well that's not really a difficult test either.
Hi Noel...all the other comments that have been made are really very spot on... this is probably the easiest of all the tests... very often, even YOU are allowed to observe what the docs or techs are seeing...AND you can ask them, right then and there "How does it look to you?" Good luck and let us know how it turned out!!
You can have it done, but it has to be requested by your physician unless he is doing it, you just TELL him youd like to have your bladder scanned also. All that is done is a clear jell is smeared across your abdomen if not by the dr. A technician and a wand scans aroundwhile they view your insides on a xray screen. Sometimes they will let you watch, it tickles more than anything. Then the gell is whiped off and thats it, youYou wait for the results from.your dr. Good luck....
I've had two different ultrasounds for my IBS. The first I drank a lot of water and they were looking at the various organs. The second was without any water, your system had to be pretty empty. They were looking for thickening of the intestinal walls. I guess that's a relatively new use of ultrasound to detect IBD, I'm not sure if they're just doing that here because we have a specialist or if it's gained traction around the world. Either way it's easy and painless. Also it's worth noting that the technicians can't tell you anything - they're not allowed to. So you just have to be patient and wait to hear from the doctor.
An abdominal ultrasound will check everything in your abdomen, so yes they will check your bladder and kidneys and also your ovaries (if you're female). I had one done a few months ago.
