l got gall stone!!!!: I am due to have my gall... - IBS Network
l got gall stone!!!!

All I can say is I had iBS d then c for 10 years. Had my GB out as a very large stone blocked my bile duct . l had a severe infection. 9 months down the line post surgery my bowel IBS symptoms are dramatically reduced. Hopefully, you will be the same. Having choleystitis and sepsis due to an infected bile duct can be life threatening. Get it out. I feel so much better now.
Like MistyDay, my IBS D symptoms drastically improved I had my gall bladder removed: all the pain that I had been suffering for years disappeared. For several months after getting it removed, I had to watch what I ate, but ,after that, I could eat anything. All the best for your surgery and recovery.
So glad having your GB removed was so positive. Long may the improvement last for us. Thanks for sharing.
hi love try not to worry I had my gall bladder out 65 years ago all the pain you get with gallstones goes and you will feel great.
Hi Ada my worry is l have ibs an lm scared it will make it worse! I'm 69 an hoped not to have to have op but it seems l will
Go for it. I am in my late 70s. Now feeling 20 years younger as a result! My GP kept saying, don't have it out unless it becomes infected. Then I had sepsis. After the infection was gone after mega antibiotics, It was removed in daycare. 4 small holes. I have a healthy appetite . No cramps, trapped gas, no d or c anymore. Good luck.
hi love you’ve got nothing to worry about. The operation is keyhole now which is much better. Mine wasn’t I was uncomfortable for a while. But it’s much better than being in pain all the time. I have IBS as well but try to relax just tell yourself you are going to be fine because you will be. Take care lots of love
my gallbladder "went bad" all at once, no prior pain until one night I was brought to my knees with excruciating stomach pain I'd never felt before. Got to the hospital and it was ready to rupture. Emergency surgery right then. That was in 1984 and boy did they make an incision! Now it's done with minor incision and little pain. That's if it doesn't rupture.
