My IBS -C got v bad early this year and had a lot of pain - Citalopram making anxiety worse even after3 months.

Now GP wants me to try Gabapentin for the pain - side effect is immunity probs and these are an issue with me anyway....has any one had results with low doses please?

Hi purple I wish I could help you but I suffer chronic IBS .All I can say is anxiety don't help so I suggest you go back to your GP and ask for something else.Myself I take Diazapam for anxiety and I was given Pregablin for the pain which also plays about with your immune system which I also could do without,it also don't stop the pain,so I'm going to come off that.I really can't help you much but stay on this site because a lot of people have had good results with other ways.Sadly not me.Good Luck

Hi I suffer with IBS and was put on Gabapentin 6 months a go for pain. I haven't experienced any side effects since taking them. I take 300mg daily and to begin with thought they were helping with the pain but recently I have started feeling stiff when I wake up in the mornings, so not really sure whether to continue with them? I suppose the best thing to do is to try them and see if they help you.
