I received a Lupron shot 2 weeks ago and restarted Zytiga. I wonder if it is even necessary to restart the Zytiga if my Adrenal system never restarted. Hmmmm???

I have been told that the 2nd generation drugs (Zytiga, Xtandi & appaludamide) might only be effective for maybe 3 years. Is this true? Thank you for your opinion. Chris

Well, insurance decided that they weren't going to cover Xtandi and said it's Zytiga for you! So, we headed in that direction.

zytiga quite working after 6 months mo psa up to 8.13 as of 9/1 mets in bones went from 4 to 10 Mo wanted me to start xtandi I refused so he sent me to a radiation oncologist who did a scan and seen a very bad met on a vertebrate thank was causing pain he hit with ext beam 5 times pain went away. next

since rechallenging with Zytiga he has continued with the achiness off and on, but it has lessened a bit but not gone away.

A month of chemo, a month of Zytiga?

In 2018 he was on Zytiga for seven months until it stopped working. In January he started taxotere for a few rounds, then Jevtana and finally cyclophosphamide. He rapidly started to decline on cyclophosphamide. He was accepted into receiving Keytruda but was too weak.

Then, PSA came back and I went on Lupron, Zytiga and Prednisone for 9 months along with ($2800) PSMA scans at UCLA and in Phoenix and radiation which resulted in my PSA decreasing to .03.

The doc gave me a choice of chemo or the drugs such as Erleada, Xtandi or Zytiga. (I have read each drug results and am leaning towards Erleada?). His advice was to go to the drugs, the nurses advice was to go to chemo, saying there are better results with early chemo.

The slightly elevated liver enzymes from last month (after the Zytiga suspension) are back in the normal range. He’s been off Zytiga for six weeks and is only on Lupron and 5mg. of prednisone now.

Had 4 bone mets in pelvis 9/18 started on zytiga and predisone psa was 4 in 3 months went to 0.68 by 8/19 up to 8.13 MO stopped Zytiga took bone scan 9/19 now have 9 mets 4 on spine now doing radiation on 2 mets that are on spine.

Some of you may remember that I decided to do chemo even though Lupron, Prednisone and Zytiga have me with a 0.02 PSA and a T <10. My only side effects are manageable hot flashes. Today my bone scan showed no new activities and some Mets that seem to b disappearing.

Had great run on zytiga then on trial keytruda and xtandi. Failure 😖 he was diagnosed 8 years ago Gleason 8. Lymph node involvement. Treated with dr snuffy Meyers who then retired. Miss him. He is going for scans today just praying not in bones.

I have posted in the past when my psa increased while on zytiga 17 mos and lupron. Those were minor up ticks such as 0.009 to 0.006 etc two months ago it went to 0.5 now today 1.51 this acceleration is concerning.

Many patients here on this site talk about Zytiga? Is this an option? I'm feeling frightened. Running out of options??? Thank You All, Carol

So we have been on the ACT 225 trial here in SA along with Zytiga. Two months ago, bone mets were virtually gone and PSA down to 3. AFter 3 injections, the PSA started rising so Oncologist stopped the Zytiga. Hubby had a 4th ACT injection after that.

Does that mean that Zytiga has stopped working? Guess that I will find out from my next PSA test in October. Any thoughts?
