Anyone taking a 5ARI (dutasteride/finasteride) with Abiraterone?
I haven't really seen anything on this since Patrick (pjoshea13) had written about it a few years ago: https://healthunlocked.com/advanced-prostate-cancer/posts/139885449/dutasteride-avodart-abiraterone-
zytiga
Has anyone discussed it with their docs? I plan to, later this week.

I finally received a Bipolar TURP Surgery after More Than 6 Months of Waiting and Several False Starts - Doing Well after One Week
I was immediately placed on ADT consisting of Firmagon and
Zytiga
plus Prednisone by the VA Medical Oncologist. The catheter has been the bane of my existence since then.

Still worried but currently still castrate sensitive
Should I relax being Gleason 9 received radiation therapy and ADT with last blood test result <0.1 or consider going on Docetaxel and/or
Zytiga
with my current first generation ADT?

Phase III Checkmate Trial Decision Help
My stats are: age 65, diagnosed stage IV PC in 2/2020, ADT & prednisone since 3/2020, 6 rounds of chemo 7/2020-11/2020, added
Zytiga
in 12/2020. In this past May my PSA was 0.05. In September it was 0.15...in other words I've moved from castrate sensitive to castrate resistant.

Any advice on Erleada?
Hello again - I recently wrote about my experiences with
Zytiga
combined with prednisolone. Last week I returned to the Mayo and saw Dr. Kwon. He has proposed putting me on Erleada. I'm concerned about side effects and would welcome comments. I might consider simply trying
Zytiga
again.

Lynparza (olaparib) +Zytiga (abiraterone) better than Zytiga alone for mCRPC regardless of BRCA status
Great news! This does NOT apply to men who have been treated with chemo or a second-line hormonal agent for newly diagnosed hormone-sensitive PCa (mHSPC), or any who have previously had chemo or any second-line hormonal agent as part of a previous therapy. It DOES apply to men who have progressed to

PSA rising again
While Jeff was in the hospital for brain surgery, they withheld the
Zytiga
/Prednisone. Is it possible or likely that 2 days off
Zytiga
would cause a spike in Jeff’s PSA? We got such a grim prognosis after Jeff was dx with brain mets.

Do bisphosphonates increase pain?
Since then Orchiectomy and
Zytiga
has done a great job of getting my PSA down to 0.01, for several months now. I have significant bone and nerve pain, under control with opioids Fentanyl plus Morphine, and Pregabalin. Recently I started with once a week oral meds Risedronate 35mg.

Timing of Radiation treatment after starting ADT
From the few studies I have seen the sweet spot ( for maximum shrinkage of the prostate) seems to be 12 to 24 weeks after starting on ADT ( I am on Lupron and
Zytiga
). I want to hit the cancer with radiation when it is at it's weakest.

Rising PSA and want to be the best advocate!
He cannot have the prostate bed radiated again, so I'm wondering what the best options are for additional medications when that time presents itself...
Zytiga
, Xofigo, Provenge, Jevtana, etc.? I've always been his biggest cheerleader and he is the greatest warrior I've ever known in my life.

In Need of a Trainer
(Redmond) It is clear my husband needs more exercise as his treatment of Lupron,
Zytiga
, Prednisone are causing bone loss (30% loss since November 2020). Internist has recommended Fosamax, but the side affects are daunting. Would like to see if exercise will help without the drugs.

Anger and depression
I am married, 58 years old on Lupron/
Zytiga
. My best friend is a 36 year old female that I originally met as a coworker. We travel together and often times share a bed (no sex, purely platonic).
