After six months on Zytiga my PSA dropped to 1.5. Yesterday it was 1.6. Is that bad news

PSA of 1.5 and 1.6 could be within measurement errors. Only if the measurements where ultra sensitive, it would be considered a small rise. Another test in a few weeks time may confirm whether the PSA is indeed rising.

I freaked out when that happened to me the first time. Dr. said it is typical, my PSA has continued to drop and is sub 1.0

I would not worry yet. Watch for 3 rises in a row. That would show progression.

Not necessarily, reach out to the oncologist who ordered the test. I had a situation happen in which my PSA went from "undetectable (<.10)" to 3.4 in a three month time span. I questioned it with my oncologist. He determined that it was a bad lab result. The lab retested my sample and it came back undetectable. Check with your oncologist for sure.
