Fish and pregnancy and ADHD
In the 1960s the discovery of mercury in fish led to a condemnation of eating fish during pregnancy. Extreme precautions were issued as there was little research on it. 50 years later there is a lot of evidence that the benefits of eating fish far Far FAR outweigh any risk from mercury. The benefits

Fish / Omega-3 Supplements
Is there any new/recent study result data for fish/krill/omega-3 supplements and prostate cancer? This is the best I can find related to Dr. Brasky's study and the counter-argument: https://www.cancerdefeated.com/does-fish-oil-cause-cancer/4002/ George

Went on Prednisone today
Hi, everyone! I went on 60 mg of prednisone today and heard taking Vit K was good for me. How much would be safe to take? I've already been taking Vit D 4, 1800mg of calcium w/ magnesium & zinc. I've also been taking Folic Acid and Omega 3 Fish Oil. It's only been 4 hours since I started, but tomorrow

Making decisions and trying not be fearful
Last Saturday, I started Humira which for me personally makes me nervous. I have had two injections in my SI joint (left and right side) Over the last two weeks which I was hoping would be helpful. Have not notice any noticeable changes yet as it is still difficult to lay on either side while sleeping

Am I entitled to see an endo specialist even though the laparoscopy showed nothing?
I am feeling really down at the moment because I don't seem to be getting any answers. Sounds petty extreme but I have been in tears about it all. :( I had a laparoscopy with a general gyne last year and no endo was found and I was sent home with no follow up. I just got told I will be fine now because

Hi. I was diagnosed with PMR at the end of January and been taking 20mg of Prednisone. Yesterday started reducing to 15 mg by alternating between 3 and then 4 tablets alternately. Dr recommended taking alendronic acid? Not keen on this idea. Any thoughts?

Hi all, I am just back from a much-needed break from everything fertility related following my first disastrous attempt at IVF which ended in an early miscarriage. Now diagnosed with PA
Since my first post on here I've been diagnosed with Pernicious anaemia as the cause of my very low b12 level (58) I received my 6 loading doses and was told they would be every 3 months thereafter. As I had some of the neurological problems I asked if I could have more of the loading doses, the doctor

Had anyone had a bad reaction to Alendronate_
I was prescribed Alendronate at the beginning of the year when I started taking it once a week. Since then I have had increasing pain mainly in my thigh muscles, groins and shins. It has become so bad that I have difficulty in walkking. I mentioned the possibility of a connection between these pains

After two and a half years with PMR, my new GP referred me to a rheumy, to get a second opinion she said. I had the appointment last Thursday and was told by the rheumy that it was because I wasn't decreasing my pred. fast enough. I have been on 5mg since just before Christmas as I had quite a bit of
