Drug holidays?
Hi everyone! I am wondering what you think about stopping medications like Ritalin and Guanfacine over the weekend, resuming them Monday for school? I have been doing this to allow her to get her appetite back and get better sleep but I am not sure if I am doing a disservice to my kiddo. I have heard

What is folic acid used for?
For other reasons, nothing to do with Pernicious Anaemia, I was checking the Patient Information Leaflet for a UK folic acid product. And I noticed this bit: Ennogen Pharma Limited

are CTx numbers supposed to be extremely under range while on prolia?
is that the point of anti resorptive? is P1NP supposed to be upper range on prolia, or lower range on prolia? my Mum's numbers are low. but the tests haven't been done for years, i don't think, and they were run within 3 months of prolia doses, so the ctx would be expected to be low? and Mum's

Blood results within range. Is this a problem?
Hi all,
I posted this query a few days ago and it was kindly analysed for me by greygoose (comments further down). However, I didn't understand what he/she was telling me - so I wonder if anyone could explain for me? Do the results indicate hypothyroidism? Do I need meds or can I tweak via

As advised by rheumy nurses I stopped mxt for two weeks and have just had repeat monitoring. Alt level

Dr agrees to test B12 but not blood test...
Hi All, on going (20 years) of discussion with GP about exhaustion. He agreed to injections for a while but that stopped during Covid. I've injected myself for a bit. Now he has agreed to do further test (as blood comes back a huge number because I am injecting!). I think the test may be homocysteine

Advice after recent blood test results please
I have been taking Levothyroxine for decades but only recently appreciated, after advice from this fabulous website, the correct way to undertake thyroid blood tests. After decades of iron deficiency I had an iron infusion a few months ago (therefore ferritin now high), I inject B12 regularly for Pernicious

this is my folate level from my tests
I take folic acid 5mg, b12 2000, and vitamin d which I think is 1000 daily. Are these ok?

temperature/anxiety and excess urination.
so I’ve just had a second lot of loading doses. All was going well however I got sick towards the end of these last week. Before I got sick all my B12 symptoms were clearing up completely. but now the urination frequency has returned with extreme tiredness, anxiety like I’ve never felt before and crying

Apixaban and methylfolate
Hi. Does anyone know if its safe to take methylfolate 400mcg whilst being treated with Apixaban? I ran out of methylfolate before being prescribed Apixaban and I can't find a definite answer. Folic acid isn't any good for me but my folate levels have dropped so need to do something.

Test results
My latest blood tests have just come back. I’d be grateful for comments from the amazing admins please. At the moment I’m not feeling great, my last tests about 8 months ago showed my B12 to be low so I started taking a liquid B12 supplement sublingually. I’m not taking any iron supplements. I take vit

understanding test results
recently been told my b12 levels are on the low side and have had 4 out of my 5 loading doses. Just checked the rest of my blood test results and some of my levels are out of ref range. I don’t really understand them all. I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant if that changes anything. I feel pretty pants if

For anyone who is on T3 only... When did you realise you needed it?
Hi everyone. I've been on a real journey since January with Hashimoto's. I started on levothyroxine and it made me feel a lot worse. I started seeing a private thyroid doctor who looked at my bloods and saw my T3 had dropped on levo, and with my symptoms she decided levo was not right for me and put
