Running induced asthma
Hi, Any advice on tackling ria please. My wife starts coughing & wheezing a few minutes into running. Doctor prescribed a ventolin salbutamol inhaler, which doesn't seem to help, shouldn't it be an albuterol or cromolyn sodium inhaler?

Waking at night
I've woken the last two nights because of discomfort in my chest & needed to take my ventolin. Hope this doesn't mean it's getting worse!

Anyone else have Exercise-Induced Asthma?
I was diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma around the time I began C25k back in February. I didn't even know there was such a thing. I don't have asthma at all at rest but only if exposed to exercise (and cold air). The diagnosis was actually a great blessing really. I am now powered by asthma

Hair still falling out in handfuls
.... Other than that over the last week or so since I was last on here, I have been to the hospital for a Lung Function Test. Had to blow in and out of a tube fast, slow and normal, without use of then after use of blue inhaler. Have been using the symbicort inhaler, which has made a massive difference

Maybe it's not asthma?
I have posted on here a few times - my symptoms started early 2015, inability to exercise - I used to run a lot but really began to struggle. I persevered until August as whatever it was ruined my holiday - struggling for breath, coughing stuff up day and night. On returning home I made an appointment

New to the forum!
Hi there - new to the forum but really having a bad time with my asthma just now. I've had asthma all my life. I've had 3 asthma attacks that have required hospitalisation in the past (one as an adult) and my asthma has been fairly well controlled otherwise. I have related eczema and other allergies

Ventolin treatment
I have bronchiiectasis and have recently got more breathless, antibiotics have not helped. Have now been prescribed ten puffs of Ventolin using a spacer every four hours. Has any one else had this prescribed and did it help?

Lovely sunny day yesterday, so hubby and I decided to go e for a walk and enjoy the lovely weather. I became very short of breath, wheezy and coughing. Had Symbicort as advised and then had to use ventolin. But still breathless and not feeling great. Got home and still short of breath. So called

WTF! Completely floored after seeing the consultant today
I've just come back from the GP/Consultant today. I'm pretty angry to say the least-having seen the consultant previously and him saying he's not certain but is thinking I have brittle asthma, he's now saying he doesn't think i'm asthmatic, doesn't have any idea what my presentation is about or what

My dad has been on ventolin inhalers for over 25 years as his copd worsened new inhalers have been given ie spiriva and steride (purple). He now has the nebulizer form of steride and ventolin, but still has inhalers. When he was discharged last Friday there was a note for the gp to check inhalers as
