Yendo’s history with lung problems.
Diagnosed with asthma in 1972 and started on Ventolin. In 1987 I was rushed to hospital after suffering a severe asthma attack caused after taking two aspirin pills. Previously, I had been taking aspirin for years with no adverse reactions, but I was told that allergies can begin at any time of life.

Salamol not as good!
I have tried to get on with Salamol but it just doesn’t work as well for me as Salbutamol. My asthma attacks always quickly abated with Ventolin but the new Salamol not only takes ages to ease my asthma attacks, but more often than not it just doesn’t work at all!I also feel as though I have not inhaled

Though I have been using them for about 9 years now and every other doctor has prescribed them for me. My condition has worsen over the last few years and I

Inhaled bicarbonate
Hi everyone! I recently saw a severe asthma specialist who prescribed me inhaled bicarbonate to use with my nebulizer (it's in liquid form) when my asthma is flaring. I have done it a few days in a row and have been pleasantly surprised by how nice it feels. It's not a replacement for ventolin but the

Ventolin versus Salamol reliever inhalers
I’ve just checked and both
Ventolin
and Salamol have exactly the same propellant :
HFA
134a which is cfc free. Therefore the climate argument lacks credibility.

Coughing badly after virus ...
Hi allI had a really nasty cold/cough which has left me with a bad cough and a flare up of asthma. Currently on holiday in India and although I am taking Fostair with a a couple of shots of ventolin inbetween, the cough is not dissipating. It's particularly bad at night. The pollution in India is bad

Re ventolin
Hi Ollie 1976I can't really help as I can't use ventolin as I get horrendous palpitations from it. I have an inhaler called symbicort, it is a dry powder inhaler & is a combined preventer and emergency treatment like ventolin. Sorry I can't help cheers Irene.

Multiple short courses of steroids for cough
Hi all, My 8 year old suffers from what we think is cough variant asthma. Any viral infection (colds etc) just sets-off a horrible cascading coughing that just gets worse and worse over 3-4 days, until we need to give oral steroids. We often blast him with Ventolin (as much as 8-10 puffs every 4 hrs

Spiriva respimat
Been given Spiriva Respimat to try alongside Fostair and Ventolin? Been taking this for 6 days. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to do its job and stop my breathlessness (if it’s going to). The reviews are not very hopeful that I’ve read. Thank you. x

5mg ventolin nebules
Sadly GSK have ceased to manufacture the 5mg ventolin nebules. Are there any other severe brittle and unstable asthmatics out there that feel their asthma is no longer under control. I am also on fostair 200 but certainly since I was switched over to a generic salbutamol 5mg nebule which I have to nebulise

Ventolin now being replaced
My asthma nurse has replaced my usual Ventolin (full-size) prescription with the new CFC free smaller salbutamol inhaler. Maybe it’s me, but it certainly doesn’t feel as effective and it may be coincidence but my voice is getting more and more croaky. Anyone else experiencing the same?

Having issues with relvar ellipta
I started taking relvar ellipta 92/22 5 days ago. The first day I felt great and had no side effects or breathing issues. When I took my second dose the next day I didn't feel like the medication got to my lungs. My tongue was coated with the powder. This has been getting worse each day of taking it.

ventolin cut backs
I was very shocked to hear doctors are restricting ventolin ( salbutamol) to some patients, at the end of the day if you have an attack ventolin can save people, it’s easy to say you should be ok having your preventative meds so you wont need much reliever but that wont keep you alive when you need

not a good day
After my 19 calls this morning I have waited for a call back.. now 7hrs.. Every call was like passing the buck.. I could do n more but wait.. now it’s too late for today as pharmacy closed hence no choice.. would never have thought that such a simple request would be so hard & complicated.. feel grim
