Salamol doesn’t work for me! Is anyone else finding it less effective than Ventolin?
Hello asthma buddies, Ok.. so while I’m all for saving the planet, I’ve been told my new blue inhaler, Salamol, is a CFC free equivalent to Ventolin. If I order a repeat prescription for Ventolin I automatically now get a Salamol. This happens at all phamrmacies I’ve tried. I have been told that eventually

New Salmol inhaler tastes awful
Has anyone been prescribed a new blue inhaler to replace the Ventolin blue one? I've just been given Salmol and thankful my asthma is well controlled because it tastes like glue. Are there any other options that don't taste so bad?

Forstair runs out before I can get the next prescription. The next installment
I’m being prescribed a forstair every 30 days. I’ve spoken to the pharmacist at the practice and she says: There are 120 doses in an inhaler, 120/4 =30, therefore a new inhaler every 30 days is sufficient. Plus, inhalers have 10% leeway so it’s fine. I’m saying: . it takes 3 to 4 actuations to prime

Alcohol content of MDIs
HI, I've just started using Fostair pink MDI with a spacer. I was using Fostair nexthaler (dry powder) and was switched to this due to laryngeal thrush and breathing pattern disorder. I do not drink alcohol and am getting a burning sensation down my throat and a warm/inflamed feeling across my chest

Sudden rapid drops in SP02 that recover quickly
Hi, Does anyone else have experience of SP02 levels dropping suddenly and then recovering quickly multiple times of day and night? I have talked to my respiratory nurse and he changed my inhaler to trimbow which seems to be helping, but today my Bluetooth sp02 oximeter recorded 42 drop (reduction of

You are what you breath - but what you breath varies...
MY reason for writing this is one or two people liked my answers about the strange world of breathing. I am not a clinician, nor a scientist so beware taking me literally. However some things are self-evident dear Watson. We breath in a mixture of oxygen (20%) , nitrogen (79%) and a tiny amount

My 17 month old daughter is in hospital every two weeks with viral wheeze
I’ve just joined the forum and I would really appreciate so help and advice. We have been in hospital 7 times this year with our beautiful baby daughter. Every time she gets a cold it ends up causing her lungs / airways to construct and we have to rush her to hospital. She really struggles for 1-2 days

Asthma remission for 6 months
I was diagnosed with asthma as a child, 8-9 years of age. My asthma symptoms come and go, but I’ve went 6 months without any major symptoms. I wake up coughing every morning, shortness of breath and sometimes I throw up due to coughing so much but I put this all down to smoking. I’ve stopped smoking

Confusing advice from consultant
I had a terrible experience today. My son's asthma consultant became annoyed at me and my husband because we chose to homeschool our five year old, largely because of his asthma. He gets three to four days of constant coughing when it flares and he was like this at least twice a month. We think viruses

CT scan and hoping for a diagnosis
Hi,Having been referred on the two week pathway by my gp to respiratory consultant, I have my CT scan booked for this Friday. I just wondered how long it will take to be notified of the results. Does anyone have any experience they are able to share please? I had a clear chest xray but have been coughing

DUORESP SPIROMAX
In the middle of changing inhalers. Tried Fostair but has not worked at all for me. I am now going to be trying DUORESP SPIROMAX. I have never heard of this but respiratory nurse thinks it is worth a try. Has anyone used this and how have they got on with it please? Many thanks for any replies. I do

hi, This is my first post. I think I just need reassurance really. I have asthma for a few years now. I was on the brown inhaler for those few years and not very often needing the blue one. It seemed over night my asthma got worse which was very concerning for me. I’m now on the Fostair 100/6 plus the

Stopping Fostair
Im absolutely fed up with the side effects I get with Fostair Nexthaler and most other inhalers and as my GP wont change it im stopping it. I only take 1 puff of 200/6 in the evening so if I need to taper it how can i do so. Im thinking of perhaps taking it every other day
