CT scan and hoping for a diagnosis

Hi,Having been referred on the two week pathway by my gp to respiratory consultant, I have my CT scan booked for this Friday.

I just wondered how long it will take to be notified of the results. Does anyone have any experience they are able to share please?

I had a clear chest xray but have been coughing up yellow phleym since end of November.

An inhaler made no difference and I have had two courses of antibiotics without any effect.

Blood test is being done tomorrow.

It depends who booked the scan and when you next have an appointment. Some people get the results very quickly, but I had to wait nearly 3 months, as that was when my next consultant appointment was.

CT results can be viewed immediately so it depends on why you've been referred and your health authority. The two week wait is usually the urgent cancer referral so hopefully it will be quick. Good luck!
