Has anyone been prescribed a new blue inhaler to replace the Ventolin blue one? I've just been given Salmol and thankful my asthma is well controlled because it tastes like glue. Are there any other options that don't taste so bad?

New Salmol inhaler tastes awful
I am on salmol. I have just had a dose and then had a coffee. The combination was unpleasant.
The solution for me is tesco cheapest mouthwash which i take after any inhaler
I’m trying mine through a spacer to see if that makes it any better.
I use Ventolin through a spacer (and my preventer, of course). I definitely feel I get more benefit from the Ventolin through a spacer, so if I go out I take the spacer with me. I presume it’s the same with salamol. It’s recommended you take 5 breaths in & out of the spacer for each puff, to get maximum benefit. There’s a video showing optimal way to use a spacer on the AUK website.
My issue with salamol (which I tried 2 years ago) is firstly you have to wash it weekly or it blocks up - what if I forget & this happens when I’m out & suddenly need it? Secondly, it’s a very small canister and if you have arthritis (I have early onset OA) it’s much more difficult to handle.
I'd check the use by date.perhaps wash the casing + do shake canister.ive not had that taste
ask you gp to swap you back these are so inaffective
