Clonal Evolution, mutations and resistance to CLL treatment

VENETOCLAX

Venetoclax
in combination with either rituximab or ibrutinib. It kills CLL cells very quickly. Will it induce clonal evolution and treatment resistance?

Ibrutinib - Side effects
can't remember the name of that one properly or, I get more chemo :( I have seen some on you mention
Venetoclax
but it hasn't been mentioned to me and not sure how that works specifically. Anyway, getting ahead of myself, have to wait and see how this drug goes for a bit longer and stay positive!

Starting Venetoclax mono on Monday
We are going to give
Venetoclax
(mono) a try. Because of my past history of side effects and considering my age, my oncologist is starting me with the 10 mg tablet daily for the first month before considering the ramp up. My oncologist is recognized locally as a CLL Specialist.

Response and Survival Rates for FCR and Ibrutinib
Also in the study results we will look at in most cases people would not have had the option to switch to the newest drugs (e.g. like
venetoclax
) when their original treatment failed (because the newer drugs were not yet available).

No longer a treatment virgin
Anyway I'm in the Ibrutinib/
Venetoclax

Dr. Wiestner on Resistance and Stan Kurtz's amazing swim for leukemia.
Adrian Wiestner from the NIH concerning ibrutinib and
venetoclax
resistance. Dr. Wiestner thinks deeply about what this implies about treatment. See: http://cllsociety.org This Saturday night, Sunday morning is Stan Kurtz’s amazing 22 mile swim for leukemia. Patty and I will be on the boat.

Ibrutinib vs FCR: does order of therapy matter?
Or is it better to use ibrutinib first then move either to FCR or perhaps
Venetoclax
plus rituximab? As my CLL specialists told me, the data is clearer for low and high risk patients but perhaps less clear for intermediate risk.

Is the combination of Imbrutinib and Venetoclax still in trial? Do you have to be in a trial to combine the two?
My husband started Imbrutinib just 3 months ago, but there was no discussion about
Venetoclax
as added in. His numbers are nearing normal and he has had minor side effects. We are grateful for that.

Imbruvica to Venetoclax
Today my dr told me to stop Imbruvica and in two weeks I will start
Venetoclax
, I like to know those of you on
Venetoclax
, what tests were done to make sure you were a good candidate for this drug, also were you inpatient when you started? How about at ramp ups?

Concern about another cancer
On trial of Ibrutinib and
venetoclax
for 3 months. Very concerned because I got called to have a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound after my routine mammogram. Is it common to have another cancer with Cll. Thank you

Get your thyroid checked.
Start
Venetoclax
next month. But I'm still very fatigued and getting headaches, so this week I asked OSU to check my thyroid levels. (I already have an underactive thyroid and have been on Synthroid - not the generic - for about five years.) Sure enough, my thyroid is too low.

Duvelisib or not?
I am on the CAPTIVATE trial combining Ibrutinib and
Venetoclax
and it seems to me that adding something like Duvelisib would go after another pathway to neutralize whatever could be left of the CLL.

New 17P- w questions about EGCG and normal 2nd 17th chromosome
. $12-15K for Ibrutinib and
Venetoclax
. While it's hard to imagine that a concentrated green tea extract might be the missing link, it certainly seemed to be pointing the needle the right direction for me. Does anyone know what happened to the EGCG trials?
